A message from our Headteacher
I am extremely proud and privileged to be the Headteacher of The Dean Academy. We are on a journey of change and improvement and this is an exciting time for the school.
At the Dean Academy we want your child to build on their interests and aptitudes and find their own way as an individual. Our curriculum is varied and deliberately challenging, but tailored to meet the needs of all our young people, and our enrichment programme is informed and inspired by our students. In addition to our broad and varied curriculum, we have a strong focus on extra-curricular activities. Our programme includes sports, performing arts and a wide range of other activities. These opportunities provide memorable and rewarding experiences for our students and make a significant contribution to their development.
The Dean Academy is a friendly school committed to core values of respect and responsibility. As a school community, it is our view that all young people have the right to learn in a calm environment. We offer high-quality pastoral support, which is a key factor in the academic success of our students and their personal progress and wellbeing. We want our students to develop a resilient approach to their learning and to become responsible, respectful and thoughtful citizens. We ensure that our students respect their school, the staff and the environment, as well as each other so that positive relationships are maintained.

Welcome to the Athelstan Trust. We are a Multi-Academy Trust of five secondary schools and two primary schools in Wiltshire, Gloucestershire and South Gloucestershire. We were established in 2015 and we are responsible for the education of over four thousand students. The Athelstan Trust aims to achieve the best for, and from, each child. We intend to enable each child to realise their full academic, creative and physical potential and to develop positive social and moral values.
